How did Assist2web came to be? Well, it is the result of a 2 year self education project. The goal, learn how to build a successful internet based business. This included learning how to build a website, marketing research, marketing and actually making money from the website.

The goal was to build success using only do it yourself tools.

My first site was built only to learn how to build a site. Funny thing happened. I started making a modest bit of money from it. Then, against all odds, a second site was built on the theme of my art and investing in art.

In the process of creating these two sites it became apparent that there were many other small and mid size business owners and artists that wanted a web presence. They had one problem in common. They did not know what they did not know.

That may sound silly but it is a very important concept.

We go through life aware of the things that we know and do not know. It is when we do not know that we do not know something that we get into trouble.

These small business people and fellow artists wanted a web site. More importantly, they wanted traffic to their sites. What they did not know that they did not know was that they wanted traffic that they could convert into customers.

It is as if they thought that people on the web are just waiting to throw money at them. Nobody actually thought that. But thinking that all they needed was traffic showed up this lack of understanding.

Many of these small biz owners lacked the knowledge and/or resources to build a website. Some had the money to have someone build a website but then did not have the money to get traffic to it, as their sites were built to please the owners and not attract buying visitors.

Often, the fees that are charged are outside the budget of many small business owners. Some who do take the plunge end up spending thousands of dollars without experiencing a satisfactory return.

In my personal survey, the fees ran from $1000 to $3000 on the average. One Allentown business hired out the building of his site and paid $10,000. In several instances, the fees, up to $3000 only paid for the labor. The business did not own the site once it was built and when they wanted to take their site to another host, they could not. They were paying as much as $60 a month for hosting (read: for the host to do nothing but resell the hosting to a company that only charges $8 per month.)

Although legal, as a businessman, this just seemed wrong.

Once as a general contractor, I gave a pay back to a customer that I over bid the job for. I gave back several thousand dollars. Other contractors thought I was crazy.

Three things happened. First, I got any and all the work I wanted from this customer, not even needing to place a bid. Second, I never experienced a slow down, even when other contractors did. Finally, this customer let me live in one of their properties for several months after the sale of our home and before we completed the renovations on our new home.

This is a really simple philosophy. The sooner you help everyone else get what they want, the sooner you will get what you want.

As a result of my own personal search I discovered and now represent a company that will build a site that delivers natural traffic for the business owner. Here is the best part for some. You can learn how to do it yourself.

If you can write a letter and can send an email, you can build a successful website.

The cost runs from as little as $300 (totally do it yourself) a year to as much as $6000 plus depending on how hands on or hands off the business owner wants to be.

Even with a hands off business owner with the full maintenance service, I would still encourage site owners to learn how and why the site works to generate traffic for them. At the best, we encourage site owners to be able to do their own maintenance.

In reality, all anyone needs is a little assistance and they can build a successful website business, Do It Yourself style.

Note In your search for a web builder/designer the one question you should always ask is... are the sites they have built meeting the business goals of the site purchaser? When I looked at various services and asked what the business results of some of the sites created were, several companies told me that they could not say as it was confidential. Anyone worth their name will be able to give proof of web success.

Simply visit the sites they have built, ask the owners if they work and you will know.

Do Not base your decision on how pretty the site is, that is, if you want to be successful. Look at how successful the site is. Ask for independent proof. By the way, we provide this proof. Why can't they? Why won't they?

There are sites that follow the same principles we promote. They also enjoy the success we enjoy. They are not afraid to tell you what sites they have built and have you look at their success.

The second site I built for my wife. It was intended to be a MLM site. However I built it on a different philosophy than most MLMers use. It is rather exciting. You will learn more about this renegade way of marketing on this site also.

A clue to what I am talking about...visitors become first of all my customers, not the MLM company's, thus I can continue to build a relationship with them even if their need for the MLM product ceases. I also refuse to sell to my personal friends and family so needed to have an alternative way to build our MLM business.

Working on these first three websites slowed down as the next in the progression of events leading to this site came about. I was invited to be an instructor at Northampton Community College in Pennsylvania teaching a class entitled, “Building a Successful Internet Based Business”. This is when I began thinking about Assist2web as a viable web site concept.

Not only did participating in this class result in learning more about building a website business, it taught me better how to teach others the basics. The first class graduated in 2007.

Lessons learned from that class resulted in the motivation to build Assist2web.com. The slower building of my other sites did not hurt me by the way. An important aspect of a website that contributes to it's ranking and thus its visibility, is it's age.

Beyond just teaching others how to build a successful website business, I want to provide the essential tools needed to make their businesses successful.

Part of my continued success comes from the SBI suite of tools. One of the most important things you need to know about Assist2web is that I built it to build the skills of owners of SBI where you can have access to and use the SBI suite of tools.

A large part of the success the websites I have built comes from being affiliate marketers of SBI. Not only is it the first affiliate marketing I ever got involved with, it continues to produce income on several levels. I was an adjunct college instructor teaching entrepreneurs learn how to succeed on the web. Now I am teaching the same class only in a school with out walls.

Now the next step in my growth is expanding the educational process so that others can benefit from the ability to build their own web success.
