Audio Video has been around for decades. On the web, audio video SEO is one of the new kids on the block however.

The rules of using audio and video are the same as other SEO techniques.

Start with the terms people are already searching. Like any other keyword market research, find out what people are looking for.

Consider how the keywords relate to the overall theme of your site.

List the keywords from highest to lowest demand.

Start creating your audio, video or both audio video production.

Audio Video Outline and Storyboard

Create an outline of the audio. Consider what the audio will consist of. Words of music, does it fit your purpose of getting traffic to your site?

If creating a video, make a story board. Make a scene by scene board showing what your end video will look like.

But I have never made a video before, you say. No problem. You can get a local college video student to make one for you. There are also new companies springing up that can do these for you as well.

But wait, who is worth $60 per minute? There is the drive time to get to the shoot. There is the production time and any corrections that may be needed. In all, it takes about one hour for every minute of finished video that you see.

The more intense the production, the longer it will take.

Optimize the Audio Video SEO

Search engines cannot read videos. However, the fact that the video is a video makes the search engines automatically have a greater interest in you. So, using the same SEO techniques used on other pages, optimize the description of your video.

Also be sure to check out the website legalities to make sure what you present is not infringing or would in any other way get you in legal hot water. You need to be sure that there is no copyright infringement as well.

Video Tips

Videos should be short. Make them 30 seconds long and not longer than 90 seconds.

If you have more material than you can put in a 90 second video, make it into more than one video.

Scenes can be 3 to 5 seconds.

Don't pan in and out or left to right too often. It will make your viewers seasick.

If you go with YouTube, you can also get additional traffic from people surfing the videos as well as those coming to your site. Your audio video SEO efforts will be doubled.
