The profitability of any one sale of anything related to splorks is less than $1. The life time value of a customer is less than $25 over several years. finally, and this is a generality, most sales are only made to about 2 % of visitors. Even if you made sales to 25 % of your visitors, at 60 people a month visiting your site, you could only hope to make about $30 per month. That could just about pay for your web site with a little left over for your electric bill. Not exactly a enough to quit your day job.

What if your site was on exclusive very high end real-estate. The value of even one sale could be tens of thousands of dollars. The life time value of a satisfied customer could be three times that fee as purchases are made and sold. With only 1/2 of a percent of visitors making a purchase it would be possible to net a six digit income.
