How would you define success on the web?

For me, my first success was just learning how to build a website that would get more than seven visitors a day as my first site did. The next success was getting my site into the top 100,000. At the time there were 100 million sites. There was a secondary success, getting my page rank to 4.

A separate goal was to get 1000 visitors a day. (1000 is not really a lot of visitors. Something like 3000 a day is starting to get interesting.) Another goal was to actually get people to pay me to advertise on my site.

This was all a prelude to building a successful site for my art work. Building the Speechmastery.com was like getting paid to go to college, on the job training and an apprenticeship all wrapped into one.

Does your success relate to money. If you think you can make tens of thousands of dollars, your in the wrong place. If that is what you want, sign up for one of the sites that promise you big bucks.
