Keywords are an important part of search engine optimization or SEO. You can put up to five keywords in the keyword meta tag. Remember, each keyword is one word or up to five words in a string. One, two or three keyword strings are acceptable. Rarely will there be four or five word keywords. Although you can use them, they will produce limited results. This is the search term that people search for. The first keyword is the main keyword that the page is focused on. The next keywords are related or synonym keywords but must not repeat the main keyword. Each keyword should then be separated by a comma. The total number of characters and spaces should not exceed 100. If you fail to include the keyword, the search engines could penalized the page for being irrelevant None of the keywords should ever appear more than twice.
