What is a Keyword?

A keyword is a search term that people will type into the browser or that bar where you type in what your looking for. Here is the geekey part...keywords are one word or up to five words that people search for.

The five words could make a phrase or be related.

An example: "keyword suggestion tool" with or with out quotes is a single keyword.

The words can be related, associated or make a phrase.

The keyword "splorks" with or without quotes is likewise a keyword.

The words need not be directly associated or make a phrase. You could search for "apple and orange" or "apple orange" as a keyword.

The search results will be sites that have those words.

Understanding Keywords

The goal is to build a site based on the keywords that people are searching for.

The more searches, the better the potential traffic.
