Meta Data SEO

Your meta data SEO is the optimization of the behind the scenes part of your page.

Each page has meta data. This is what you will see when you type in the keyword and see the search results. Other parts of it will be at the top of the web page or in the browser.

Look there now. Do you know what the keyword for this page is? It is right there.

Most never notice this part of website building. The search engines do notice however. This is why meta data SEO is essential to get to the top of the results pages.

To keep the spiders happy and well fed, this needs to be a part of each and every web page created.

Meta Data SEO

HTML pages are divided into two basic parts:
(1) header (2) body.

The header has the meta data like title, descriptions, keywords, coding rules and more. This part is not normally seen in the visible part of the page layout. This is where meta data SEO takes place.

Block Builder site builders have every thing aligned for you and tell you what to put where. The SBI block builder has you place all these in the right place when needed.

In the body you place the code & content you want on the page. Everything else, the tags, description, and other meta data are covered here.

Title

Every page has a title. In the architecture of your website, this sits at the very top of your page. It needs to be both people and search engine friendly.

The title needs to be on topic, on point and have your keyword in the beginning.

Ironic and cute work great in the real world. In cyberspace this kind of writing can work against you.

Suppose in your real world ad copy you want to feature learning how to become a hair stylist. You use a line like...Learn How to Become a Shear Genius. On the web, the word genius would be picked up. Shear would also be picked up. Two words that are not related to each other except in the abstract.

So you would be taken to educational sites about scissors and sheep shears. It is not likely you would end with a hair styling result with the following exception...

Note The iconic TV show Shear Genius occupies all the content on this topic. This is just to illustrate the way the web searches.

The title appears two ways. In context and out of context.

In context, the title at the top.

Out of context is the archival view of your title. It is important for the keyword to be in the first few words and for the first few words to be on point and on topic. If not, this may appear a nonsensical group of words.

Bonus...Create a short question and answer in a few words, it may get you into the Ask search engine.

Keywords

When you enter keywords on the creation of a web page, the first keyword should be the only focus of the page. Every other keyword needs to relate to the main keyword.

As a general rule, never have your main keyword more than twice and never exactly the same (ie.....public speaking, public speaking) So for the first two words, use public speaking and public speaker and that would be the two times max rule. Note that speaker could land visitors about stereo speakers so would not be a good choice.

The focus of the page is public speaking. Since it is a bit broad term, a third keyword could be entered such as professional public speaking. This would be a term that research shows that people are already searching for.

Suppose a related term, speaking for money shows up in the research. It could be included as an auxiliary search term. Enter it both as a key word and place it in the body of copy to be written on public speaking.

Keywords should never have more than five entered (a keyword is one to five word strings that people search for). It should never be more than 90 characters.

Description

The description is a blurb about the page. The search engines display this in the search results. It needs to have the keyword in the first few words. It also, like the title needs to be short, sweet and easy for the spiders to eat.

It also needs to be easy for the visitors to be attracted to it. Like the titles, some have found that by placing a question here it is possible to get listed in Ask.
