What is a Minisite Website?or "How You Can Save Thousands and Still Have a Web PresenceWhat is a minisite? What is a microsite? The answer to all three questions is that they are a single page or up an up to five page website. Originally they were intended to serve as an auxiliary or supplemental part of a main website. What is a Mini-site?A minisite will have a home page or landing page that has its own unique domain name. In the past, these sites provided specific information such as individual products, commercials or editorial content. Unlike traditional websites, these sites can be temporary, put up, taken down, added as a subdomain and or stand on their own. Traditionally, mini-sites or microsites do not use sophisticated web applications nor have fancy features. They will not have flash animation, complex navigation and hundreds of pages and shopping carts. Since they are small and have few if any linking pages, their simplicity makes them both versatile and affordable. While it is easy to see the traffic patterns of the world wide web, at the time of this page going up it is still difficult to find numbers for geo-local search traffic. A minisite or microsite makes it possible to research both traffic patterns and profitability of new local product launches. They can be a simple, inexpensive way to develop a web effective presence. Looking for Something Different?![]() Custom Search A mini-site can also serve as a starter site. They can be operational within as little as 48 hours. The site building process can be going on during the time it takes for the host to accept and bring online the domain name, usually not more than 48 hours. Since small is the new big, minisites are taking on a whole new function in the world wide web. They are serving as a home page, landing page, sign up page and and squeeze page all wrapped into one. At Assist2web.com, we believe you should know how to add pages and understand the basic funciotnality of your site as well. Minor changes like dates, sales, information and seasonal changes can and should be made by you, the site owner rather than paying up to $100 per hour to have someone else do this for you. If you are interested in having someone build your minisite but are willing to learn how they work, we will be happy to help you. Please contact us.
Many website developers are not experienced businessmen. As a result, they bring some practices to the web development industry that is giving the biz a black eye. One of the tricks of the trade is to charge around $25 for hosting of your site. This would not be a problem, especially for someone who does not want to be bothered with this. However, when money is tight or the website is not making you money, then there is a belt tightening. The website may be one of the things that goes. Yet it may be the one most needed thing, at least if it was optimized correctly. And what do you get for your $25 hosting fee? The web developer will take that money in exchange for paying about $8 a month to a hosting company. The only thing, the company can host several sites for that $8. Suppose you have three sites. You will be paying about $900 a year and your developer will be paying only $100. What if there was a better way?
We think there is a better way. For that same $25 a month, you can get access to the most powerful web tools on the net. Some are only available through our host. Even better, hosting is included. Even your domain name is included in that price. The choice is yours. Pay $300 to enrich your developer or pay $300 a year to have access to all the tools you will ever need, whether you want a one page or a several hundred page site that you can build yourself. Oh yea, there is even a video module and printed module to teach you everything you need to know. More than Minisite Website Building. |
Want a Website That Brings Traffic? The Assist2web principles are key to your success. A Minisite For YouWe can build a minisite for you. We will teach you how to manage and make minor changes. This is a new work in progress. It is part of the educational component of the North East Web Developers Guild. More to come on this in the future. |
