You will find that E-commerce is perhaps the easiest business model to create a business with. It will cost time and money. Actually, the money part is optional. The time you will need to spend is not. The less money you put out will require more time.

Concept

The first thing you will need is an online internet affiliate marketing program concept. Not just any concept though. You need a concept that people are searching for. A concept that is profitable.

Create

It starts with developing a list of high profitability topics. High profitability means high demand and low supply. There is a search tool that can help you with this. More on the tool later.

In the case of my art site, JonathanSteele-Artwork-Gallery.com, it would be nearly impossible to create an art site around the word Art. There are 50,000 searches a day. Turns out there are 5O million pages of art. Add to this the sites I would be competing with. The first thirty sites were of the likes of MOMA and other great art institutions around the world.

No way would I ever get past them. So looking a bit farther, there was a word that I had a chance with. It is the word Artwork.

Clicks Take the creative concept you researched and start to build a site that gets the click. You need to build for both the search engines and for the eyes and minds of your visitors.

There are programs that will help you get the exact right mix of words to do both. Some words for the search engines and the majority for the visitor.

Note: In time you will be able to do this mentally with out the program. It is good to always check. It is just kinda cool that we can program our brains to do what a computer program does. More on this program later too.

The content you build is the first part of getting clicks through organic searches.

There are other steps you will need to take to build free traffic.

You will need to work the search engines.

You will need to build quality links to improve your popularity.

Evaluate the performance of your web pages.

Confidence Next, learn how to build confidence in you and in your site. Who would you rather buy from. Someone who wants to sell you something or someone who you personally have confidence in.

This is where you build relationships with your visitor. Think about it. Who do we like to do business with? Those we like and trust.
