Google Local Business CenterMake sure and validate. Enter to have tele notification, when the phone rings copy and enter the PIN number and it will be live in a day. Use the website as your business name. You do not have to put physical address but you do have to have a phone number.

This is unique. It is a combined business listing and community review site. It is organized by location and category. At the top left of the page is the Sign Up link button. Click and get started.

Wait. Before you place an ad, take the time and set up an affiliate account. Then, enter the code on your site and find a way to contextually make it fit. Then you will have a passive income and a way to boost your website popularity.
Squidoo
This is a great way to get links, get advertising and to get your site noticed.
CraigsList
One word of caution. The ads have a limited life time so consider the cost (your time) / benefit ratio before pursuing this. Also you will get a number of spammers emailing you who want you to educate their children or what ever the latest con is. These are all cons. Only respond to those who contact you in person or through normal business channels. If someone contacts me from the ad thorough the website, it is probably legit. Even so, use common sense.
There are exceptions that also require care. One decorator in England wanted one of my paintings and contacted me through my website. I could not find her listed on any directories of interior decorators. So, I just did not respond. Always confirm.

Barter Broker Websites
This may or may not be free. If you sign up with my broker, you will be free for at least a year (call me and let me explain this, it is not for everyone). Once a member of a barter association, you list your products or services on their website. Listing only one service or product per page allows you to invite the visitor to visit the entire site to learn more about you or what you do or sell.
It is not for everyone but has been a wonderful blessing for me. In less than one month, over 5K in sales of my artwork. Please contact me for more info. I am working on a book about this.
